Yes, you heard it right! The fourth episode named “The Spoils Of War” of the seventh season of Game of Thrones has surfaced on the internet prior its original premiere date, i.e. 6 August 2017.

Earlier this week, news broke out about the hack of HBO’s servers which sacrificed more than 1.5 Terabytes of data which included much more than GoT scripts. The  video that has surfaced online shows two watermarks throughout. The first on the top left says “For Internal Viewing Only and the other on the bottom right says “Star India Pvt. Ltd.”. The episode also shows the runtime in the center below.

An official statement from Star India reads:

“This confirms the compromise of episode 4 of Game of Thrones Season 7, earlier this afternoon. We take this breach very seriously and have immediately initiated forensic investigations at our and the technology partner’s end to swiftly determine the cause. This is a grave issue and we are taking appropriate legal remedial action.”

The fourth installment airs on 6th August in the U.S., 7th August morning on Hotstar in India and 8th August on Star World. The Star India logo shows that the hack is somewhat linked to India. As soon as the episode surfaced online as Google Drive links, they were taken down due to copyright issues. However, the episode is available on many online websites including torrents in a lower quality.
